Took place next to the Beach House Restaurant on Dec. 7 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Dundarave Beach. With the support of the Dundarave Business Association, this year the Festival was driven by the community for families, sustainable and caring. All donations raised from tree sponsorships this year went to the North Shore Emergency Shelter. Almost $22,000 was raised for this worthy cause. Of course in the competition for the best-decorated Christmas Tree, the Cove Dragon Busters placed FIRST!
What does a winning Christmas Tree Decorating Team look like? The Dragon Busters won FIRST PRIZE in the annual Christmas Tree Competition.
All tree decorations were hand-made by the team two weeks before the event. A gaggle (herd? flock?) of sewing machines was pressed into service to make the Santa hats in the team (blue) colors.

The huge bonfire made from beach logs provided a roaring center-piece to help warm the cockles.	The bonfire on the ocean beach looking back on all the decorated trees.
