July 1st, 2008: Canada Day - Ice Cream Sales Fundraiser
Ambleside Beach Park

The Dragonbusters were out in force at Ambleside Beach Park in West Vancouver this Canada Day and the ice cream gods were certainly with them. A beautiful hot summer day - perfect for ice cream sales.

Two carts: twice as much ice cream and
...um, twice as much ice cream revenue!

Yeahhhh... Dragon Busters!!!

The day included:

  • The citizenship swearing-in ceremony for 80 new Canadians.
  • The Hitmen - playing hits from the 50s to today.
  • Birthday cupcakes, salmon burgers, old-fashioned milk shakes, candy apples
  • Build your own musical instrument to play and parade around the park
  • Rhythmic gymnastic shows
  • Decorate your own ribbon and dance with gymnasts.
  • Make a lantern to light up the North Shore in recognition of BC’s 150th birthday,
  • Bring your lantern to the beach during the Fireworks Show.
  • Get a temporary tattoo,
  • Visit the balloon artist,
  • Make a Canada Day kite
  • Fireworks: The 30 minute pyro-musical shows started at 10:30 pm and simulcast on 99.3 The Fox. A simultaneous show was also in the waterway between Canada Place and North Vancouver.
