North Shore Dragon Busters were Silver Medal Winners in the Breast Cancer Challenge Race at the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival!! A fantastic race with a “jump” at the end of the race, the women of NSDB really poured on the power to be second to Breast Friends from Edmonton AB, with Abreast from Rocky Point winning the bronze medal. A day of torrential rainfall and long waits between races, but great camaraderie for all of us. Our new members have their first medal, and our more experienced (notice I didn’t say “old”) paddlers are reinvigorated and inspired by the new energy and excitement that our new paddlers have brought to the boat. A terrific party at Diane and Ken’s was the perfect ending to a great day! We’re doin’ it!
