Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival

It was a beautiful, sunny & hot one for the 1st day of the 2022 Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival. We had 2 great races; finished our first race of the day with a time of 2:28 (best of the season) and finished 4th overall out of 8 teams.

This year at the Festival, Day 2 saw 19 boats, representing 26+ teams from across Canada race in the Paddlers Abreast Canada (PAC) BCS (Breast Cancer Survivor) division.  We had 2 races today and made it into the “A” Final. We finished with a PB of 2:26 and placed 2nd out of the 19 teams.

Our drummer Janet getting ready for The Jane Frost Flower Ceremony (for this festival), named in honour of Jane who passed away earlier in the month. Jane was the IBCPC Founding President and an original member of Abreast In A Boat, the world's first breast cancer survivor dragon boast team. She will be missed.
